Cocaine Test

The cocaine test is a rapid, visual, qualitative, competitive binding immunoassay for the detection of cocaine metabolites in urine. The test provides a fast confirmation of the presence of cocaine in the subject sample at a minimum cut-off sensitivity level of 300 ng/ml

A professional, forensic diagnostic test for use in the qualitative detection of cocaine and cocaine metabolite in human urine at the standard sensitivity cut-off level of 300ng/ml

Cocaine is an alkaloid present in Coca leaves Erythyroxine coca. Its pharmacological properties, such as stimulation of the brain and central nervous system plus its profound euphoric effects, have been known for centuries.

Cocaine is habit-forming. It is potentially dangerous when indulged in to excess. If rats or monkeys are hooked up to an intravenous source of heroin, they will happily self-administer the drug indefinitely; but they still find time to sleep and eat.

Cocaine is a potent, naturally occurring central nervous system CNS stimulant. It is derived from the leaves of the coca plant, found primarily in various regions of South America.

Cocaine has been used medicinally as a local anesthetic agent, but its addictive properties have minimized its modern daily use. Once considered a panacea for all sorts of ailments, Cocaine was readily available as the principle ingredient in patent medicines sold over the counter in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Pure cocaine was first used in the 1880s as a local anesthetic in eye, nose, and throat surgeries because of its ability to provide anesthesia as well as to constrict blood vessels and limit bleeding. Many of its therapeutic applications are now obsolete though due to the development of safer drugs.
