Medical Tests Coalition Hires Lobbyist

WASHINGTON - The Coalition for 21st Century Medicine, which represents companies that develop medical diagnostic tests, hired Foley Hoag LLP to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form.

The firm will lobby on laboratory regulation issues, according to the form posted online Wednesday by the Senate's public records office.

The Arlington, Va.-based trade group counts Clarient Inc., Luminex Corp. and Nanogen Inc. among its 20 founding members.

Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches. They must register with Congress within 45 days of being hired or engaging in lobbying.
