A 15-year-old boy accused of raping a woman in a Brisbane park will undergo a medical assessment before his next appearance in court.
The teenager, who cannot be named, made no application for bail during his brief appearance in the Brisbane Children's Court on Monday morning.
He was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned until Friday, when it is set down for mention.
Lawyers for the boy said they would seek to have him undergo a medical assessment before his next court appearance.
He was arrested on Saturday after allegedly raping a woman at Effie Johnson Park, at Sunnybank Hills, in Brisbane's south.
Police were called to the scene after witnesses reported seeing the alleged incident take place.
The boy was charged with rape, committing an indecent act and deprivation of liberty.
His family was in court on Monday to support him. |
